RURAL WOMEN IN STRUGGLE AGAINST VIOLENCE AND AGRIBUSINESS
Workers from Via Campesina and Committee for the Eradication of Slave Labor occupied Plant Grass in Ururaí, Campos dos Goytacazes. Women aims to denounce slavery and plant seedlings of various plants, instead of the monoculture of sugar cane. Bringing the flag "Peasant women in the struggle against agribusiness and against violence, land reform and food sovereignty", the 8th of March is decreed as the International Day of Struggle of Women Workers, with demonstrations throughout Brazil.

FIRST OF MAY 2009 IN RJ
The First of May 2009 had an entire special character. Not only because it was performed in one of the most deprived areas of infrastructure and services of Rio de Janeiro, the west zone, but also for breaking the traditional logic to perform actions when the large centers of big cities, showing that it is the duty of social movements not only of acts at these sites, but actually work to develop spaces peripherized reproductive logic of capital.

PROTEST AGAISNT MONOCULTURE ANS GREEN DESERTS
Determined to challenge the agribusiness, predatory model of agriculture-dependent technologies and foreign capital and controlled by multinational companies, social movements from the countryside and the city organized a demonstration against the policies of BNDES, which apart from this model with its focus on public incentives denies any support to family farms and small peasant. The military police of Rio de Janeiro confirmed the presence in the act, beating demonstrators and defending the interests of agribusiness and the BNDES.
